WORKPLACE FIRST AID CERTIFICATE EXPIRY DATE

When faced with an emergency, you should try to stay safe and strong. This can help you help others who are also struggling. Be brave and find a way to solve the problem.
Response:
Is the casualty responding to you when you touch, shake or speak to them?

Try to be as clear and calm as possible and dial 000.
Airway:
Kneel down and check their face to see if all airways are normal. Can you hear them breathing? If not open their mouth and check their airway is not blocked, if it is dislodge the blockage.
Breathing:
Look at their chest, is it moving? Can you hear them breathing?
CPR:
This involves placing the heel of one hand on the chest and the other interlocked on the top. In this case, certain measures must be taken to ensure that breathing can resume. CPR is a unique feature in first aid courses.
Defibrillator:
Administer an automated external defibrillator (AED) for an unconscious and not breathing adult. An AED is an electric shock machine that cancels irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias) so that the heart can return to normal. These machines can be used very simply and often will instruct you on how to operate them.
