What are the advantages of face-to-face first aid training compared to online options?
Face-to-face training provides hands-on practice with real equipment, immediate feedback from qualified instructors, and the opportunity to practice scenarios in a controlled environment. This approach builds greater confidence and skill retention compared to online-only options. Our in-person training ensures you can perform critical skills under pressure in real emergencies.
How long does face-to-face first aid certification last?
Certification validity depends on the specific course:
- HLTAID009 (CPR): Valid for 12 months
- HLTAID011 (First Aid): Valid for 36 months (3 years), with annual CPR refresher recommended
- HLTAID012 (Childcare First Aid): Valid for 36 months, with annual CPR and asthma/anaphylaxis refreshers recommended
- Specialized courses: Typically valid for 12-36 months depending on industry requirements
Do I need to prepare anything before attending a face-to-face first aid course?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes as you’ll be practicing skills such as CPR on floor mats. All training materials are provided, but you may be required to complete pre-reading before some courses. You’ll need to bring photo ID and your USI (Unique Student Identifier) number. If you don’t have a USI, you can create one at www.usi.gov.au.
Are there any physical requirements for completing face-to-face first aid training?
To successfully complete practical assessments, participants must be physically capable of performing CPR on an adult manikin for 2 minutes on the floor and on an infant manikin. You’ll also need to demonstrate the ability to place a casualty in the recovery position. If you have physical limitations, please contact us before booking to discuss accommodation options.
Can I book face-to-face first aid training for a group or business?
Absolutely! We offer specialized group training for businesses throughout the Gold Coast. Our mobile training team can bring all necessary equipment to your location, and we can tailor the training program to suit your industry’s specific needs. Do face-to-face courses include the same certification as blended learning options?
Yes, our face-to-face courses result in the same nationally recognized certification as our blended learning options. The difference is in the delivery method, not the qualification outcome. All our courses meet the latest Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and are delivered by our RTO (31124).
How soon will I receive my certificate after completing face-to-face training?
Upon successful completion of your face-to-face course, you’ll receive your official certification either same-day or within 24 hours. Same-day certificates are subject to course completion by 3pm and verification of all required documentation. As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO: 31124), our certificates are nationally recognized and comply with all Australian standards.
