To successfully complete the HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting course, participants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be at least 14 years old (participants under 18 require a signed enrolment form from a parent/guardian).
- Have a valid USI (Unique Student Identifier) for certification issuance.
- Be physically capable of performing CPR on an adult manikin for 2 minutes on the floor.
- Perform CPR on an infant manikin for 2 minutes.
- Place a patient in the recovery position.
- Demonstrate proper use of an AED.
- Assessment includes practical demonstrations, role-plays, and a written test.
- Certification is valid for 36 months, with CPR refresher training recommended every 12 months per ARC guidelines.
- Read and comprehend first aid materials.
- Communicate effectively in emergency scenarios.
- Understand spoken instructions and count to 30.
- Complete an incident report form accurately.
