How It Works
- Complete Online Learning – Step into a fully online, interactive and comprehensive learning experience that covers all the theoretical aspects of CPR. Complete this at your convenience and at your own pace before your practical assessment day.
- Select an Assessment Day – Choose a day that suits you to complete your practical assessment. Walk-in to our Southport location at any time during that day (8am – 4pm) and undertake assessment by a qualified trainer.
- Walk-In Practical Assessment – Prove your CPR competency in a real-world scenario with our qualified trainers. Spend as much or as little time as needed to showcase your CPR skills, and pass the practical assessment.
What To Expect At Your Walk In CPR Assessment
Upon completion of the online modules, drop into our convenient assessment centre at Unit 6, 9 Frinton Street, Southport QLD, any time between 8am and 4pm on the day of your choice. Your assessment will include:
- Follow ARC guidelines closely.
- Make sure they’re positioned so that their airways are kept open and clear.
- Adhere to the ARC’s instructions.
- Perform at least 2 minutes of non-stop CPR by yourself, including 5 cycles of chest compressions and breaths on a manikin on the ground.
- Employ an AED as directed to give at least one shock.
- Continue CPR with as few breaks as possible, even when switching rescuers.
- Deal with any vomiting or regurgitation swiftly and safely.
- Upon finishing CPR, pass the situation to emergency services and report events accurately.
- Reflect on the incident to learn from it.
- Manage in line with ARC standards.
- Apply uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes, doing 5 rounds of compressions and ventilations on a manikin placed on a hard surface.
You must have competency in these procedures to enable you to pass your assessment successfully. The purpose of this practical assessment is to show that you’re ready to provide quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation in real-life emergencies.

To demonstrate competency in your practical CPR assessment you will be required to perform CPR on both adult and infant manikins.
