HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (new code)

The HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course is a nationally accredited training program designed to equip participants with essential lifesaving skills. It can be completed in one of three formats: in-person, blended, or online, offering flexibility to suit different learning preferences.

 

Course Delivery Options:

  • In-Person: Full face-to-face training with hands-on practice.
  • Blended Learning: Online theory at your own pace, followed by a 3-hour practical session.
  • Online: Theory-based training with interactive components.


This course covers a comprehensive range of first aid techniques, including:

  • DRSABCD action plan implementation
  • Adult, child, and infant CPR
  • Use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)
  • First aid for bleeding, burns, fractures, and anaphylaxis
  • Emergency response to heart attacks, strokes, asthma, and seizures
  • Management of environmental emergencies such as drowning, heat stroke, and snake bites

 

Training is delivered by experienced instructors through realistic first aid simulations, ensuring participants gain practical, hands-on experience. Upon successful completion, you will receive the HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certification, which includes HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Course Requirements

To successfully complete the HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course, participants must meet the following requirements:

Age & Enrolment

  • Must be at least 14 years old (participants under 18 require a signed enrolment form from a parent/guardian).
  • Have a valid USI (Unique Student Identifier) for certification issuance.

Physical & Practical Requirements

  • Be physically capable of performing CPR on an adult manikin for 2 minutes on the floor.
  • Perform CPR on an infant manikin for 2 minutes.
  • Place a patient in the recovery position.

Assessment & Certification

  • Assessment includes practical demonstrations, role-plays, and a written test.
  • Certification is valid for 36 months, with CPR refresher training recommended every 12 months per ARC guidelines.

Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) Requirements

Participants must be able to:

  • Read and comprehend first aid materials.
  • Communicate effectively in emergency scenarios.
  • Understand spoken instructions and count to 30.
  • Complete an incident report form accurately.
