HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
HLTAID009 Provide CPR course is a nationally accredited training program designed to equip participants with essential lifesaving techniques. It can be completed in one of four formats: in-person, blended online, or Done Differently, offering flexibility to suit different learning preferences.
Course Delivery Options:
- In-Person: Full face-to-face training with hands-on practice in a 2-hour session.
- Blended Learning: Online theory at your own pace, followed by a 1-hour practical session.
- Online: 100% Online training over a 2 hour Zoom class.
- CPR Done Differently: A flexible delivery mode with a time window to come to our Southport venue to show competency and work with our instructors.
This course covers critical CPR techniques, including:
- DRSABCD action plan implementation
- Adult and infant CPR techniques
- Use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)
- Management of unconscious casualties
- Safe manual handling techniques
Training is delivered by experienced instructors through realistic CPR simulations, ensuring participants gain practical, hands-on experience. Upon successful completion, you will receive the HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification.
Course Requirements
To successfully complete the HLTAID009 Provide CPR course, participants must meet the following requirements:
Age & Enrolment
- Must be at least 14 years old (participants under 18 require a signed enrolment form from a parent/guardian).
- Have a valid USI (Unique Student Identifier) for certification issuance.
Physical & Practical Requirements
- Be physically capable of performing CPR on an adult manikin for 2 minutes on the floor.
- Perform CPR on an infant manikin for 2 minutes.
- Demonstrate the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Assessment & Certification
- Assessment includes practical demonstrations and a written test.
- Certification is valid for 12 months per Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.
Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) Requirements
Participants must be able to:
- Read and comprehend CPR materials.
- Communicate effectively in emergency scenarios.
- Understand spoken instructions and count to 30.
- Complete an incident report form accurately.
